China Jiangnan Space Group (hereinafter CJSG), approved to be set up in 1964 by the Special Commission of the CPC Central Committee, is a research and production base with full facilities and powerful capacity for industrial products in the aerospace industry. Its core, China Jiangnan Space Industry Corporation (CJSI) is a state-owned sole proprietorship subordinate to China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation. 

For more than 30 years CJSG has developed into a large complex of integrating arms manufacturer with civilian production and combining technology with industry and trade.

The Group (CJSG) includes:

• 23 manufacturers

• 2 research institutes

• 1 technical center

• 2 special process centers

• 3 colleges and schools and

• some other enterprises
   

CJSG possesses a fixed asset  of RMB 2,000 million yuan and its total assets amount to RMB 3,860 million yuan. In addition to 8  joint ventures, the group has 11 companies all over the country, such as in the cities of Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou and Suzhou. 

Staff members and workers totaled up to 23,000, among whom 4,000 are technicians in different fields, including 680 senior engineers & 150 experts. 

CJSG's subsidiary enterprises deal with various industrial fields, like machinery, electronics, power sources, motors, electric appliances, chemicals, metallurgy and building materials, thus forming a complete system of specialized division and extensive coordination.

As a powerful entity, CJSG has an advantage in undertaking, with its substantial resources and 
advanced facilities, the design, test and mass production of big projects and system engineering.

More than 20 types of high-tech products, such as the key components for positive-negatron colliders, high-ion backspin accelerators and for synchro-radiation accelerators,  have attained the world leading level and enjoy a high reputation at home and abroad. Tens of items  won honors awarded by the province government, ministry and state. Moreover the " Major Invention Prize" and "Science & Technology Prize" were awarded by the state, province and ministry to CJSG's 369 items of achievement in scientific research and technical development.
